The World Cup legacy for Cape Town.

HILTON TARRANT: In the third of our podcasts, looking at the Business of 2010, we are joined by the head of marketing for Cape Town Tourism, Lianne Burton.
Lianne, very important that an event of this magnitude, all the work that goes into staging this, leaves some sort of legacy for not only the country but also for the host cities. What is the aim in terms of leaving that legacy in Cape Town?

LIANNE BURTON: Well I've chatted a little bit about the infrastructure legacy. In terms of doubling the value of tourism, which is very much where Cape Town tourism comes in, one of the big opportunities is to market Cape Town as a winter destination. Cape Town has a very strong summer brand. We are usually fully booked at high season. In winter we have a problem where many of the people working in the tourism industry are temporary staff and they get retrenched over that winter period. So it's a highly seasonal destination.

HILTON TARRANT: Lianne Burton is head of marketing at Cape Town Tourism.
